g_f_y What the?! You can play One Shot on JoiPlay? Well, mine must be bugged then : ) I tested it a long time ago and got an error. I asked around, and Hat_Kid said One Shot runs on a modified version of MKXP-Z.

I have a lot of questions. How does JoiPlay handle things like changing the window size? Or messing with the PC background? Or modifying the game’s files? What about that scene that needs another tab open, basically overlaying it on the main game? You know, those fourth-wall-breaking moments.

Or is it a different version? Are you using One Shot World Machine Edition? Did they open-source it and you ported it to JoiPlay? Iirc, One Shot World Machine Edition removes those weird elements and combines everything into game itself

I don’t know about all of them, I haven’t really played yet, but most of this stuff won’t work, patch contains stub/empty methods for this case. But modifying files should definitely work because it’s not anything special

Oh, mb. I worded that to poorly earlier when I wrote mkxp-z actually on how Hat_kid showed us gameplay where they managed to get OneShot running using mkxp-z, which is a heavily modified fork of mkxp.

But they have been really silent on Discord since another porter popped up and said they were going to port OneShot: World Machine Edition instead as it’s more natively viable to run on android. It’s already released on Switch, but they probably want to get the Steam release. I’m not sure which engine it runs on… Hopefully it’s still mkxp-oneshot Or at the very least the engine it’s portable to run on android natively

That’s what Hat_Kid did for the puzzle and fourth-wall-breaking moments — they modified or made changes to the game’s maps/scripts.

Isn’t WM made with MonoGame? Don’t know the portability of this engine, but I assume it’s on the level of Unity (or easier ig?)

No, Fading Memory dev uses compiled VM instructions, which depend on the Ruby version and platform it’s running
Need to have access to the game scripts to make it work
